Guess Who...

(The famous turtle face!)

Currently Emmett...
  • will show you where his hair is if, you ask

  • runs to the tv if you sing the Elmo's World song or the Baby Signing Times theme song
  • eats all sorts of crazy foods, but refuses to eat mac and cheese

  • will try to repeat a word after we tell one to him, he is getting close to saying Grandpa!

  • knows what birds are and I think he has his own word for them
  • says "up" whenever he wants something (Paul taught him to say it when he wants up on the couch or up in our arms, but now he says it if he wants anything!:)

  • loves to try to eat with a spoon
  • occasionally falls on the ground and throws a tantrum

  • follows directions when we tell him to go get his passy, ball, shoes, drink and sometimes a book.

  • loves bbq sauce
  • loves brushing his own teeth, but not having his teeth brushed by Mom or Dad

E Dancing

I feel like I have been posting a lot of diaper shots lately. I promise E has pants on most of the time! He was mid getting dressed when he starting dancing in his room. I thought I better catch it on camera, so here you go...

I can't believe this is my first time posting video on here! I tried almost a year ago, but couldn't do it because our videos are in MVI format and blogger only supported AVI. Apparently they fixed it! I'll try to remember to post more now.

Sneak Peek for the "S" Family!

Thanks for asking my to do this you guys! I had a blast!

You'll never guess what we did on Saturday!

Okay, you guessed it, another bike ride. This time we rode 20 miles to the mouth of a canyon. It took Paul an extra 1.5 hours to do the ride with me and Emmett. I just really like to enjoy the scenery;)

The trail consisted of a lot of tunnels and overpasses.

We stopped for a granola bar break at this lovely spot...

On this ride we saw two bulls, a baby cyote (that was adorable!) and paul saw a full grown coyote. I think I am glad I missed that one.

It was cool and cloudy the whole way up. The sun peaked out when we got to the top.

Of course I had to get a pic of E. He actually fell asleep for a few minutes on the way up.

Show off!

It started pouring on us on the way down and I was grateful for all of those tunnels & overpasses!

Why you DO NOT want to live near the beach...

These pictures don't do him justice! At one point he laid down and stuck his whole face in the sand, with his mouth open!

SAND! SAND! EVERYWHERE!!! Emmett's extra crazy at the beach too. The other kids weren't nearly as dirty as he was. I thought it would be too cold to get in the water today, so we didn't wear our suits. Of course he didn't care that the water was cold, he still wanted to splash in it. Everytime I would turn my back he would try running for the water! I would walk him over to get his feet wet, then of course his shorts would get wet, THEN he would decide to lay down and roll around in the sand.... I think I will wait until the end of the summer to vacum out my car. In CA sand on the inside of your car during the summer is kind of like snow on the outside of your car during winter in UT. You don't want to wash your car until you're sure there will be no more snow storms!

PS I will be posting more pictures from today's beach trip on the daily photo blog, so you

can check those out if you are interested. (One will be coming up daily starting tomorrow)

Friday = Beach Day!

Being at the beach today made me SO excited to shoot my first family photo session at the beach tomorrow, especially since it will be in the evening when the lighting is better!

Emmett Update

The last couple of times Emmett has had playtime in his room I have peeked in to find him playing with his basketball hoop all by himself! He has also started to push cars around on his floor and make sounds. Are boys just born with that instinct? I don't think we have ever shown him that.

After church wrestling match. Emmett can't wait for Paul to get home everyday so they can wrestle. He pretty much chases Paul around the house all night long wanting to play until it is time to go to bed. There are some things that dad's are just better at, and rough housing is one of them!

What a little stud!
Below are the many faces of Emmett. He especially cracks us up while he's eating. When the food is even somewhat warm he is super dramatic about it. I can't believe the things this kid comes up with to get a laugh. He is such a hoot!

PS We are loving the shirt-bib thing he is wearing. I bought it at Ikea, just in case you were wondering.:)
