I really enjoyed watching this video this morning on my friend Christie's blog. I always need little reminders like this during the Christmas season.

These are the pictures that Paul took of me and Emmett when we were taking our family photos last Saturday. Now you can really see my hair. I would say these photos are most accurate as far as showing my hair color goes. Click HERE to see a few of the pictures I took of Paul and Emmett.
For the rest of our trip you could find me sitting on the back porch chatting with my grandparents (Cherished memories, I love hearing them talk about "back then.") while Emmett played and played in the yard. (I am totally guilty of backyard envy!)
Of course we also enjoyed seeing Paul's parents, Matthew, Grandpa M., my parents, Mark and Amy, Dave's family, Grandma and Grandpa N. and the Wayments! (Did I forget anyone? I hope not) We are so blessed!
I had the pleasure of babysitting my friend Becky's sweet little Kevin last week. It was so fun to watch Emmett interact with him and try to be a baby too. It quickly became apparent that I don't have a baby anymore:(
Two of my closest roommates (and friends) came to visit 2 weekends ago. We laughed and talked and laughed some more. We spent the day at the beach and then came home to watch the General Relief Society broadcast. We were exhausted after the beach so we watched the broadcast on the computer from the comfort of my bed. Both of these girls are expecting babies in the spring! I am SO excited for them and can't wait to get together again soon!
(Another beautiful family! Visit my photography blog to see more)
Calling all Utah friends! I am taking a last minute trip to see my grandparents, which will include two days in the Salt Lake Valley. In an effort to build up my photography portfolio I am wondering if any of you are interested in a free photo session. I realize this is totally last minute, but if you are interested email me by this Tuesday evening at lori.sheets@gmail.com!
How can 4 years go by so fast and so slow at the same time?! Sometimes it sounds like a lot and other times it sounds like oh so little. It feels like we were married just yesterday yet life before Paul seems like it was ages ago. I can't imagine who I would be without these past four years. I have learned so much and have grown in so many ways. It's a beautiful thing to love and be loved! Lately I have been reminded of how many wonderful things we have ahead of us. There are so many things we have yet to experience together. We are still learning new things about each other and what makes us most happy. In the grand scheme of things 4 years is just a drop in the bucket, but to date it has been the most significant four years of my life.
Emmett is so cute about saying prayers. We started praying with him a few months ago when we would put him down to bed. Over the past few weeks he has really caught on to blessing the food. The other day when we were at the grocery store I gave him a sample cookie from the bakery and continued shopping, when I looked back down at him he was staring up at me with his arms folded and his cookie was sitting on the seat next to him. It was the most adorable moment! I had to stop in the middle of the grocery store and bless his cookie before he would eat it! Who is this kid?!
On Monday night we were ready to start FHE so I started singing "If you're happy and you know it." Emmett immediately ran to the piano and climbed up on the bench. When I sat down to play it for him he was squatting on the piano bench next to me. When the "clap your hands" part came he would bounce his little bum up and down to the beat.
I can't remember which blog I found this salsa recipe on, but it is AWESOME!

The Birthday Boy:
My friend Emily did an awesome job planning this adorable party around Charlie's favorite book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" Each child was asked to wear a certain color, which coordinated with an animal in the book. Can you believe she designed all of those hats on her own?! She has got skill! We had such a great time celebrating Charlie's 1st birthday!
The other night Paul and I were discussing how I can build up my photography portfolio and he said, "You know what you need to do? Find someone with really pretty and unique eyes." My response was, "Everyone has really pretty and unique eyes." He said, "I don't." I said, "I'll prove it to you!" So, here's your proof. As corny as it sounds I really believe that every one's eyes are beautiful in their own way.© Blogger template 'Photoblog' by Ourblogtemplates.com 2008 | Distributed by Creative Artworkof Fractal Enlightenment
