New York, New York

I had a great time with my cousins in New York City this past weekend. . . Time square was filled with excitement as usual. . .

I went to my first Broadway play. . .It was wonderful!
I took this picture for Paul. Ernst & Young has an awesome office building right in Time Square!
The last time I went to NY was three weeks before September 11th. It was heart breaking to visit Ground Zero and be reminded of the great tragedy that occured.
It is so incredible to drive down the streets of Manhattan and see the LDS temple!

The Lake

We decided that we needed to play on the Fourth of July. It had been a while since I had gone swimming in a lake and it was pretty nasty, but I got over it and we had a really fun day.

This weekend we went out and tubed the river with some of my co-workers. Again, the water was gross, but it was totally worth it!

Washington D.C.

I Love the D.C. Temple!

After going to the temple P and I bought all day passes for the Metro and cruised all over the city. We had an absolute blast! There is so much to see and so little time. We have plans to return before the summer is over.

P was part of the Washington Seminar program two years ago. It was great seeing where he lived etc. We also enjoyed meeting some of the BYU students that are in the program this summer.
We had a delicious sea food dinner on the banks of a stream that runs into the Potomac River.

The Washington Monument . . . I have yet to go to the top, but someday. . . Isn't it beautiful!

The new World War II monument is really well done, as you can see in the top left picture. It was so fun to sit and relax there. Everyone just takes their shoes off and cools down with their feet soaking in the pool.
There was a culture fair down by the monuments. We saw some really cool things there, one of them being this truck! Pretty sweet huh. I also had my first Mango Lassie. Yum! Yum!

Manly Facial Hair...NOT!

It all began about ten years ago when I started growing facial hair. Every so often, I would abstain from shaving for a period of time to evaluate my "manly" facial hair. Well, it has been a while since the last time I had the opportunity to evaluate my ability to grow facial hair. Well, I am sad to report that it doesn't look much different than it did when I was 15. Oh well...

I attached two pictures as evidence. I concluded that I just was not meant to have facial hair. It's that plain and simple...

THE TRUTH: L didn't like kissing me with the facial hair so it certainly behooved me to get rid of it. ;-)

Hark an ARK!

Did you get the flood memo? We didn't! Turns out they are filming the sequel to Bruce Almighty here. No wonder why we saw John Goodman when we went out to dinner last weekend! Our friends tell us when they are filming during the week they have all sorts of animals out there, like Giraffes, elephants, etc. Two of each of course.

PIGAPALOOZA 2006! (I can't believe I ate that!)

Welcome to our summer home. We had a fun Saturday pig roast with a bunch of the people from P's program. P was in charge of the volleyball tournament. You can see him in action in the picture above. (he is in the middle)

Lights out Scrabble

There was a HUGE thunder storm the first week we were here. The electricity went out and we ended up playing scrabble by candle light.

Carthage

Nauvoo, The City Beautiful!

It was so great to go back to my old stomping grounds and give P a tour. We stopped at the Mill and Bakery and bought a loaf of banana bread, but forgot a knife. That didn't stop Paul:) We went down to the Mississippi early in the morning before we left and I was so excited to see a mama goose with her goslings. You can imagine how ecstatic I was when I looked to my right across the field and saw 10+ mama geese with their goslings! I LOVE Nauvoo!

Winter Quarters Nebraska

It was such a pleasant suprise when we arrived at the Mormon Trails visitor's center and found one of my favorite sister missionaries! She was my co-counselor for a week at EFY. Isn't the Temple beauftiful?!

ROAD TRIP!

Are we there yet? After snow, wind, rain, running over a huge dead deer, and listening to a 23 hour book on tape we made it!

Thanks for the great visit!

It has pictures that span throughout my life and a little thought that goes a long with each of them. It is the most thougthful gift ever! I will Always cherish it! Thanks mom, I love you!

Ragtop Down So My Hair Can Blow

"Rollin' in my 5.0, the ragtop down so my hair can blow...." Well, there isn't a whole lot of hair left to blow, but I sure did have a good time letting the wind blow the little hair that I have left. Good times! Don't worry...this picture isn't an indication of a mid-life crisis, just the luck of the draw with a rental car while I was traveling on business. I thought that I had gotten over my teenage fetish of driving fast. However, I stepped into this car and figured out that I'm not quite over it yet. ;-) Not that I don't love rockin' the 1992 Ford Taurus, but honestly "some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this."

Happy Happy Birthday From all of us to you...

Here's the Birthday Boy!

Family Spring Break

T-I-double "G"-ER!!! We had a blast over spring break with my family. We spent a day at Disneyland, a day at CA adventures and a day at the beach(kind of). It was rainy most of the time, but we didn't let that keep us down!
