E&Y Alumni event at Dodger's Stadium

Paul's previous employer has some awesome events for their "alumni." This week we were finally able to attend one. Paul was in heaven as we walked on the field at Dodger's stadium, batted at home plate, walked through the locker room and ate "Dodger Dogs" in the Dugout club.

Louisa Montfort

That was my name on Friday night as I participated in my first "Murder Mystery."

(Please, oh please, still be my friend after seeing these pictures! This is so embarassing, but I also find them rather amusing, so I thought I would give you a good laugh:)

"I want you!"

I am tired of looking at myself everytime I go to my greeting card blog. I am coming up with some more holiday designs and I need a VARIETY of family pictures to display in my samples.

So here's the deal...

Email your most awesome family pictures (past or present) to CCgreetingcards@gmail.com. If I use one or more of your pictures on my Creative Cookie blog I will give you $5 off a future order.

I am looking for formal family pictures, small and large family pictures, multiple pictures of the same family or family members that can be displayed on one card, etc.

Basically, if you have a family picture(s) that you think would look good on a holiday card please send it my way. I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks so much!:)

Favorite Thing #4

(minus a few episodes)

We turned our cable off for the summer and our friends were kind enough to let us borrow their DVD's. (Thanks Becky and John!) I think Emmett is going to grow up thinking that this was his bedtime lullaby!

Favorite Thing #3

The "Money Saving Mom!"

Thanks to this website, I got everything you see in the picture for free, or with a full rebate! I am really digging this couponing thing so far and I think I have just scratched the surface.
Thanks for the tip Emily and Lisa!

Little Mr. tries "solids" and is 5 months old today!

"Hey! I like this whole sitting up thing..."

"Now I am getting a little nervous. What's in the bowl Mom?"

"Ewe! You people eat this stuff?!"

"Hey Dad, maybe this isn't so bad..."

"I'll take that, thank you very much!"

"This rice cereal is child's play. I want the real stuff!"

"Ok, ok, enough with the pictures Mom. Will you please just clean off my face?"

(It was fun to see E get so excited about eating and take the spoon and want to feed himself. The biggest challenge was his hands getting in the way when trying to get the spoon to his mouth. As much fun as the rice cereal was...I think we have decided to wait one more month before we continue on with solids.)

E had his 4 month check up last Tuesday (about three weeks late, because we missed the original appointment...Woops!) and the Dr. pinned him as a trouble maker! I told him that he is a very "spirited child." And he said, "Well you call it what you want, but I think you are going to have your hands full with this one." If he is anything like his Dad, I am sure that's the truth.:)

His stats were:

15lbs 6 oz. (50th percentile)
27 inches tall (75th percentile)

I had to stay in the room with him for his shots this time, because Paul wasn't able to make it for the appointment. He encouraged me to be strong and I made it through just fine. Oh and E handled them well too.

Journal bite:
This weekend we went to the outdoor mall, mainly for "Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory" carameled apples (I had a coupon:), and there happened to be a Nordstrom's fashion show going on. It was kind of fun to see a "real life" fashion show. Plus we found some pretty good deals on baby clothes at Old Navy and Target for E. Not your typical date night, but we had a good time.

Sunday was pretty busy with church (I was called to be the "Nursery coordinator" today. We have 3 nursery's in our ward), reading, piano practicing, talking to family, zonking, cooking (Thanks for coming to dinner J!), game playing and blogging. I think I need to do a better job of making Sunday a "day of rest." We'll see how I do next week.

My business venture

Ta da! Click on the link above and let me know what you think. I want to be sure that the blog is as user friendly as possible.

Thanks for your input!

I LOVE the great feeling that accompanies completing a project!

(These are the projects that I planned to complete this summer. I almost made it.)

Project #1:

I started this project about a year and a half ago, when I was with my Mom in Utah. I have worked on it little by little over my past three trips there. I finally brought it home with me in August and just finished sanding the edges today. . .

Project #2:

I wanted to make some magnets to go on my magnet board and got the instructions for these . . .

from my friend Lisa's blog. Thanks la la la Lisa!:)

Project #4:
I obviously don't have a little girl, but it was great having E around to make sure I got everything the right size. I took some pictures, but I am pretty sure Paul would flip out if I posted a picture of our son with a little girl headband and huge daisy on his head.:) I am excited to send these to some special little girls.

Project #5: I volunteered to make these bags for a service project. I am kind of worried that when I drop them off they will look nothing like the others. I probably should have asked to see a completed one before I made mine, but hey, it's just a bag... right?

Now I am onto a new project that I would like to complete before we move. I want to "redo" a few pieces of our bedroom furniture and make them look like they somewhat match. I am thinking black. Does anyone have experience with this or advice?
One last picture I want to post...
It doesn't matter where I put E. He always seems to find a way to see the TV! He cracks me up all of the time!

Little Mr. update

We tried sitting E up in his boppy last night and it worked for a few minutes. It is fun to see him begin to show an interest in books.

I introduced E to a new toy today. He seems to like balls, but what little boy doesn't? My youngest brother's first word was "ball."

Over the past week E has discovered some new sleeping positions. The latter of the two forces me to check if he is still breathing every five minutes. Why can't he just turn his head to the side?!
I took this picture on our way to a church bbq on Friday night. I loved how the sun rays were so visible. Unfortunately I didn't take my camera out for the rest of the evening. We went out for frozen yogurt with another couple afterwards, which was fun.

On Saturday morning we went door to door in support of proposition 8 again. It went a little better this time, which was nice. That evening we played wiffleball with some friends at the park. I don't think I have ever played wiffle ball before. It was a lot fo fun! After wiffleball we picked up a red box movie.

Oh, one more exciting thing from last week, we found a cheaper and bigger apartment! We are moving in less than three weeks. If my posts are a little sparse for the rest of the month . . . you know why.
One last picture . . . one morning last week I was up early enough to look out and see the sunrise. I guess the fact that I was alert enough to appreciate it is the momentous part. I took this picture through our screen door.
